Dental Crowns

Dental crowns (caps) cover the entire tooth to provide protection to that tooth. There are several reasons why we will place a crown.  For example, we often use them on cracked teeth, on over-restored teeth (big fillings), and on teeth that have had root canal treatment. One thing all of these have in common is that a filling alone just will not work.

We can make dental crowns of all-ceramic, porcelain fused to metal, or all metal.  These days, we mostly use all-ceramic materials that are very strong yet also very natural in appearance as they mimic the normal translucency of your teeth.
